This blog is called Lyricsofmylife which is Devin Kira Murphy’s poetry web home, i.e. the space on the internet where she posts original poems for the whole world to read and comment on. Lyricsofmylife started its life out as a Yahoo! Canada GeoCities web site before coming here to WordPress.com in 2009. The poems Devin posts are usually on such topics as love, school (bullying), gender identity (being transgender female) and religion (being both a Unitarian Universalist and Christian, and God, prayer etc…).
About Devin Kira Murphy
Devin Kira Murphy is a transgender female, a Unitarian Universalist Christian, an artist (soundscape, visual, and poetry), has a J-pouch, Irlen syndrome, and learning differences, is a Clone Clubber, Trekkie (especially of TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY), fan of country music, and organic smooth peanut butter. Some of these soundscapes aim to cement the listener in fictional alien environments ranging from the soothing to the highly jarring. Wile others explore emotions that can accompany certain pivotal or standout times and places in our lives. Still others of theses soundscapes explore, the quality or state of being of, such things as slow. Devin’s soundscape albums can be found online at devinkiramurphyartist.bandcamp.com/. And previews of her soundscapes can be found online at soundcloud.com/devinkiramurphyartist.
Through the use of computer software programs (Seashore, Pinta, GIMP and Pixlr) Devin creates digital visual art that are unusual and highly imaginative. These digital visual art pieces explore the themes of the abstract, gender identity (being transgender female) and religion (being both a Unitarian Universalist and Christian, and God, prayer etc…). They can be found online at www.flickr.com/photos/lyricsofmylife/albums.
As mentioned above, the poems Devin writes are usually on such topics as love, school (bullying), gender identity (being transgender female) and religion (being both a Unitarian Universalist and Christian, and God, prayer etc…) and they can be found online wright here on Lyricsofmylife.
