Desperate

You had a long respite
Lots of time to think
Now you know you’re desperate
And you need big courage
To seek what you’re needing

If you don’t tell others
What it’s that you’re needing
If you don’t go see
If others may also be
Needing what you’re needing now

People won’t know you fully
If you don’t go see

You’re desperate for a life
With communal praise and worship
That’s so vary God centred
You won’t get it if
You don’t seek seekers of…

Raised UU

We were taught to love learning
And to always be questioning constructively
Just so one day hopefully we’d be able to stand tall
Tall knowing why we’ve come to believe what we believe
That was back in Sunday school
That was back in Sunday school
Wen we were still kids growing up in Unitarian Universalist
community

We were kids growing up in Unitarian Universalist community
Well before we got sent out into the world
And fond that there is nothing quite like a raised UU

And a raised UU is a real emotional and hugging loving creature

We were taught to love ourselves
And be of others always excepting
Just so one day hopefully we’d be able to stand tall
Knowing that we’ve come to be some really caring people
That was back in Sunday school

It’s still sustains and enriches us and that’s so cool

It’s powerful wen you
Along with me and them
Are entering holding hands
And singing in beautiful unison

It’s magical this space
Wen we’re here all together
For the sacred healing
That we bring each other

We’ll light a chalice
To honour all of this
Us and our community
And this here vary place

Here could be here
Or it could be there
It doesn’t matter where
As long as you’re here

To sing some songs
To hear some readings read
To do some rituals
To be in silence some

It’s powerful wen you
Along with me and them
Are exiting holding hands
And singing in beautiful unison

We’ll bask in its glow
With a hymn sing
Or a big group hug

We came to be

All ‘bout our fun
We had on the run
It was filed with so much sweet lunacy

The run towards the magic pool
Which would give us the much-needed school
Lesions in who to be utterly knocked of our feet
From our heads to the ground do to the heat
Of sweet expression all ‘round us

Don’t have no tears
Or even fears
‘Cause safe we did play ‘round
Yes we did it in churches on many a big bedding mound
And too in they’re many a sanctuary hall
It was for the pursuit of spirituality that did call
Yes we came in vanes, see nun came by bus

It’s Not Foolish To Want A Place Here

It’s not foolish to want to stay
It’s not foolish to want a place here
Yes I need a place here to use what I learnt in my teen years
It’s not foolish to want to stay here
Yes it was here back wen I was a youth that I learnt so much
Yes it began in the downstairs corner room
And it ended in the upstairs room you call the apartment
But did it have to end?
Yes I know it had to end for me
But surely what it taught me couldn’t it have been incorporated into something suitable for me and my fellow young adults
Is it not true that you teach us to find out what we believe in
And is it not true that you teach us to live what we believe
So if we find out what we believe is true for us, then is it not, not foolish to think we can live it out here
Can’t we live it out here under the big steeple
It’s not foolish to want to stay
